Tips for Keeping Your Home Cool This Summer

Summer in Georgia is HOT!! The forecast seems to be hot, hot and even hotter every day of the week. The summer heatwave can be expensive when it comes to your energy bill. Keeping cool and lowering your power bill are important.

Here are a few tips for keeping your home cool this summer:

1. CEILING FANS: Yes, it seems simple, but it really does make an impact. If possible, install ceiling fans in every room of your home. This can allow you to set your thermostat a bit higher, but still feel comfortable in your home.

2. USE A THERMOSTAT TIMER: Be sure you aren’t running you’re A/C on full blast all day. When no one is home, there is no reason to waste all of that energy. Have your timer set to start cooling your house off shortly before you will arrive back home.

3. KEEP YOUR BLINDS CLOSED: Don’t let all that sunlight beam into your house and heat things up even more. Yes, the natural sunlight is nice, but limit the amount of time your blinds are open to help limit its heating affects.
