5 Star Customer Review for Lang Restoration

"My basement flooded this past July.  I was not sure what the cause but I knew it was pretty bad and getting worse.  I called Lang and the sales rep, Chris Groen, was at my home in literally 15 minutes. He found out what was causing the water. It was my hot water heater so he asked me for some buckets and a cooler and put them there to stop any further damage.  He immediately called in his crew and turned off the water.  Within a couple hours they showed up with vacuums to suck up the water, fans and dehumidifiers.  These guys knew what they were doing.  The onsite manager explained to me what they were going to do, had it taken care of, offered to call some plumbers for me and had the water sucked up within a couple of hours! Chris' shirt was drenched from sweat and he kept helping even though that is NOT his job.  I was beyond impressed with his work ethic & knowledge. The fans and dehumidifier stayed for about 3-4 days until all was dry.  Chris came by to check it during those days to ensure it was all working and not blowing out any circuits.

They have since helped me with my insurance company, getting me a dumpster, recommended and took care of getting my air ducts cleaned, had managers of each area come out and explain everything to me, get a crew of cleaners out to clean everything in my basement (they were even on a ladder cleaning the silver piping things in the ceiling and took the extra initiative to staple some plastic down over the insulation in the unfinished part that had come undone without me asking.

I trust this company to not only recommend but to use again! They are very reputable and went above and beyond.  They worked with my crazy schedule and with me to make the best of an awful occurrence!"

3 Remodeling Don’ts

Remodeling can be a thrilling and fun experience, but it can also be stressful and expensive. This is why planning is so very important. You want the process to go as smooth as possible. Knowing what not to do is as important as knowing the right things to do.

Here are 3 Remodeling Don’ts you may want to keep in mind:

1. Don’t Ignore Safety Issues: Overloading outlets, makeshift repairs and not following coding guidelines can create dangerous situations. Safety should be a key component to your remodeling project.

2. Don’t Underestimate The Value Of Professionals: Not every project is a DIY project. Know your limitations and skill set. Licensed and experienced contractors, electricians and plumbers can be worth their weight in gold.

3. Don’t Leave Projects Half-Done: Postponing or abandoning projects half-way through can leave a dangerous environment. Once you start a remodel or renovation, it’s important to finish.

Springtime Home Maintenance Tips

Springtime in Georgia is so beautiful. Blooming flowers, vibrant green trees and smiling kids playing outdoors surround you. It doesn’t get much better! Spring is also a great time to complete much needed home maintenance. Spring cleaning should extend beyond removing cobwebs from your windows. Home maintenance will make your home safer, increase its value and save you money in the long run.

Here are a few springtime home maintenance tips:

Inspect Your Decks and Patios

These areas can easily be overlooked. While we readily enjoy them often, we can forget to maintain them. Check for signs of mold, decay and instability. It may also be a good idea to have them pressure washed and sealed as well. If you have a deck that shows signs of instability, have a professional contractor inspect it immediately.

A/C Maintenance

Your central air conditioning unit needs annual maintenance and service. Be sure your unit is ready for a long hot summer. Have a certified HVAC technician handle all of your A/C maintenance on a regular basis.

Roof Repairs

It’s a great time to check for loose shingles or to determine if you need any major roofing work completed. The long winter and strong storms can take a serious toll on your roof, so don’t just assume that everything is fine. Have a professional complete a full roof inspection.

3 Things You Can Do To Protect Your Home During Thunderstorms

Storms are a very common occurrence in Georgia. Spring and Summer bring lots of heavy rain, thunder storms and lightning. All the rain water may be great for the grass, but is not always so great for your home. There are things you can do to help protect your home during thunderstorms:

1. Install Surge Protectors: Installing individual surge protectors or a whole home surge protector system can add a valuable layer of protection. When lightning strikes it can damage your sensitive electronics, appliances, computers and more if they are not protected from electrical surges.

2. Keep Your Roof Maintained: Roofs can be very vulnerable during storms with high winds and rain. Keeping your roof well maintained and strong can help it “weather” the storm.

3. Check Your Garage Doors: Garage doors can take the brunt of much of the strong wind and rain that accompany thunderstorms. You need to make sure they are in good condition and fully sealed to help prevent storm damage. Make sure any dents or damage are immediately fixed.

Keep your family and property safe during the storm. Regular maintenance and acting proactively can make a such a difference when thunderstorms hit your area. Let us know if you need help protecting your home from storm damage or if you need emergency storm damage restoration.
